American & Canadian Champion Onan of Knatchbull ROM
Onan is truly a once in a life
time dog...
Onan
was Andy's pick out of a litter of puppies and he wanted
him. He was always a well balanced puppy who grew into an
all round balanced moderate dog with excellent pigmentation,
topline and head piece, but most of all he loved to perform in
the ring right from the start. He obtained his Canadian
Championship at the young age of 10 months. He went on to
have a full career of show success both in Canada and the US
from puppy to veteran. He is a multi Breed and Group
winner in Canada and the US.
Onan won in 2000 Winners Dog
& Award of Merit at the American Bullmastiff Association
National Specialty with a huge entry of 90 dogs. Brindles
are more difficult to place in the ring and be recognized.
He was owner-breeder-handled to this prestigious win and even to
his American Championship. This
was one of my proudest moments, as was in 1993 at the American
Bullmastiff Association National Specialty with my dear Champion Vindicta of Knatchbull won Winners Bitch & Award of Merit too.

Onan was a showman, who entered the ring to win. He
may not have been the biggest dog but he had a biggest desire to
win and knew how to perform in any size ring under any
conditions. I just went along for the ride and it was a
great ride with him.
At the age of 10 years, he still goes on to sire more
puppies, Hilda's litter of 15 puppies is a statement of
longevity and health. He tries so hard to keep up at the
daily walks, but he knows the short cuts too. He has
slowed down some but never will say never. We don't let
him now jump up onto the back of the truck.
2009, Onan is still going strong for his age of 10
years + but is retired officially from the breeding barn.
This year, he is recognized by the American Bullmastiff
Association by achieving his Registry of Merit (ROM) which
I am so very proud that he has obtained. As a
Canadian owned and bred bullmastiff to produce American
Champions in another country is wonderful. He has so much
to offer and has given much in the breed, such as type,
pigmentation and out going good temperament. We are so
proud of him and this new title is important to us as dedicated
breeders of Bullmastiffs .
2011, on Nov. 29, 2011, our dear Onan passed away
just 24 days away from his 13th birthday. He was born on
Dec. 22 1998. You are missed here. Rest in peace.
